Aoneco's supporter, the NPO animal welfare organization "LYSTA," reports on their activities in October and thanks them for their donations!
From Mr. Suzuki, the representative of the Fukushima Prefecture NPO LYSTA:
We have received a report on the cats in October 2024 .
October activity report.
◼︎TNR was 98
◼︎12 new rescues
Mass sterilization surgery once a month
In addition to the cats being cared for by members of the public, there were also 33 cats at the site at the request of local residents' associations.
There was a cat house in the area, and the few people living near the house only provided food for the cats.
We decided to rescue 8 kittens!

In addition to the 33 cats, there were eight kittens that were too large to be operated on.
I felt a surge of anger when the residents of the cat house brought the kittens in cases, laughing.
The facility is full, but the cats are completely innocent and it would be unreasonable to return them to the scene, so we decided to take them in.
Three sisters, newcomers from the health center

Three of the cats we adopted from the animal shelter have congenital neurological disorders, including nystagmus and head shaking.
These animals were difficult to adopt from the health center to the general public, so our organization took them in.

The remaining adult cat was suspected to be pregnant, so we decided to prioritize taking her in as we could not allow her to give birth at the health center and increase the number of kittens.
Each shelter has a "capacity" within which it can operate healthily, based on space, manpower, and funding issues.
Taking in eight kittens was a decision that could have exceeded our capacity, but thanks to everyone's support, we have been able to continue caring for them in a healthy manner, even though we are operating on a shoestring budget.
Thank you for your continued support.
