Aoneco's supporter, the NPO animal welfare organization "LYSTA," reports on their activities in May and thanks them for their donations!
From Mr. Suzuki, the representative of the Fukushima Prefecture NPO LYSTA:
We received a report on the cats in May 2025 .
This is a report on activities for May.
The ashes have been interred!
At LYSTA, we hold a burial ceremony once a year for the remains of rescued dogs and cats that have passed away.
The FIP scandal delayed the planned date, but the ashes were finally interred on a certain day in May.
The world is still not one in which all dogs and cats can live happily.
I hope that you don't have to wait for us, that you will be reborn as human beings with freedom and rights, and that you will live your life choosing what you want to do.
Another rescued cat has developed FIP, the seventh this year to do so yesterday.
Our financial situation is strained, but we are trying to get everyone back on track and overcome the current difficulties.
We are truly grateful for the generous monthly support.
Thank you for your continued support.
"Hiramasa-kun" is tsundere to the staff !
Another paralyzed cat was taken in by the health center, and we went to adopt it.
Named "Hiramasa-kun"
In the Ministry of the Environment's "Classification of Animals Eradicated," injured animals are classified as not being counted as animals euthanized.
Therefore, even in municipalities that claim to have achieved zero euthanasia, injured animals are still being euthanized.
We aim to achieve zero euthanasia in Iwaki City, including for injured animals.
Over the years, we have had many face-to-face discussions with the public health center, and we have now reached a point where we are able to get in touch with them on the same day when injured dogs and cats from traffic accidents or malnutrition are brought in, and we are able to have LYSTA take them in rather than dispose of them.
Even though he has the handicap of being paralyzed from the waist down, I hope he will enjoy his food, be sometimes sulky and sometimes sweet towards the staff, live a normal cat life, and live out his natural lifespan.
