aoneco Supported by: NPO Animal Welfare Organization "LYSTA" April 2025 Activity Report and Thank You for Donations

Aoneco's supporter, the NPO animal welfare organization "LYSTA," reports on their activities in April and thanks them for their donations!

From Mr. Suzuki, the representative of the Fukushima Prefecture NPO LYSTA:

We have received a report on the cats in April 2025 .

April activity report.

The mass sterilization surgery in April involved 28 males and 36 females, 10 of which were pregnant.

TNR activities are not about restricting breeding for human convenience or preventing the population from increasing.
In order to provide medical treatment that benefits the cats as well, we offer treatments that can be performed at the same time as surgery and provide feeding advice to feeders.

We also treat children who have sustained injuries in fights!

Males are constantly getting injured from fights, especially during the mating season.
In some cases, the skin is so worn down that the bone is visible, but we provide appropriate treatment at the same time as surgery.

Malnourished black cat

Cats that are malnourished due to poor quality food will suffer from lice and hair loss.

This is especially evident in black cats, as the fur below the neck fades to a reddish-brown color and sheds.

Fuwa-chan developed FIP in April

This year, two cats developed FIP in January, two in March, and one more in April.
Until now, we've had one case per year, if that, but this year we've had five cases.

I consulted a veterinarian, hoping to find a way to prevent FIP from developing, but there is no such thing, and I have to say that the incidence rate has just happened to be higher this year.

The cost of treating five dogs with FIP is putting the operation under strain.
It's been 14 years since I started LYSTA, and I'm facing it as a test from God, thinking, "I can get through this now."

I cannot express how much your monthly support helps me.
Thank you very much for your continued support.
